Instructions and Rules
Overview
The only supervised (proctored) examination for courses at HCHS is the final examination, which will encompass all material which is covered in this course. The purpose of the proctored examination is to verify that you have a good overall understanding of the subject matter presented in the course, and that you are able to demonstrate this understanding without the aid or assistance from any person, books or outside source whatsoever. The final examination is necessary for all students enrolled in Huntington College of Health Sciences’ college level course or program offerings.
How To Qualify
To qualify for the proctored final examination, you must complete all lessons in the course with a grade of C or better.
Grades
The College will maintain a record of all course grades, which will be available to you in transcript form upon request. There is no charge for the first transcript and thereafter there is a charge of $5.00 per transcript.
Selection of a Proctor and Examination
The proctor must be chosen from the following and may not be a family member, personal friend or professional acquaintance, and must be in all respects totally impartial.
-
University or college testing officer or guidance counselor
-
School principal or assistant principal
-
Officials of adult schools, boards of education, community colleges
-
Adult education centers authorized by appropriate state education agencies
-
Librarian or assistant librarian
-
Police or sheriff’s department supervisor
-
Notary public
-
Full-time licensed clergyman
-
Military education officer
It is our experience that the proctors normally do not charge any fee. If there should be a charge, the student is responsible for paying the fee directly to the proctor.
Once a proctor and examination date are selected, please notify the College at least 5 days in advance before the scheduled examination date by completing the final examination scheduling form on the following page (overseas students, please give 15 days notice). A student may start a new course before taking the final examination for this course.
Student Information
The purpose of any proctored examination is to allow the College to assure any interested person that you have attained a certain knowledge level in your studies. Therefore, during the examination, you are not allowed to have the assistance of any outside source, whether textbook, notes, other persons, etc.
To substantiate your identity you must present to the proctor an authorized identification bearing your photo, which normally would be a current driver’s license or passport. The examination will be sent directly to the proctor. Upon completion the proctor will send the examination directly to the College.
We suggest that you telephone the proctor the day before the examination, in order to verify that the proctor has received the final examination from the College and that the examination is otherwise ready to proceed as scheduled.
You are not allowed to bring any educational materials, notes, or the like to the examination. You will only require pens. If you should obtain or attempt to obtain the use of any outside help or assistance in completing the examination, the examination will be deemed invalid and your enrollment in the College terminated.
