Admissions Requirements

Congratulations on your decision to apply for admission to one of the programs and/or courses offered at Huntington College of Health Sciences (HCHS). HCHS offers open enrollment year round. Interested applicants may apply,enroll, and begin a degree program at the college anytime.

Prerequisites

An applicant for a diploma program, the associate's program, or bachelor's program must have a high school diploma or its equivalent. American College Test (ACT) and Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) scores are not required.


Undergraduate Admissions

All Undergraduate applicants must submit the following to the Admissions Office:

(1) A completed signed admissions application and a $75 non-refundable (except in the case of denial of admissions) application processing fee

(2) Official high school transcript or equivalent is required and official college transcripts* if requesting transfer of credits. *College or university must be accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA); or international equivalent.

(a) To be considered official, transcripts must be in the ordinal sealed envelope from the sending institution. Opened transcripts are considered to be unofficial and will not be accepted.

(b) Student copies will be accepted for application purposes; however, all credentials must be verified by official transcript to the college before a student is allowed to enroll in the first course.

(3) Students must submit with their application a photo copy of a government issued photo I.D. (Examples: Driver's License, Passport)

The application is valid for 60 days from the time of acceptance. If a student does not enroll within 60 days he/she will have to reapply for future enrollment.

Graduate Admissions

All Graduate applicants must submit the following to the Admissions Office:

(1) A completed signed admissions application and a $75 non-refundable (except in the case of denial of admissions) application processing fee

(2)Students must submit with their application a photo copy of a government issued photo I.D. (Examples: Driver's License, Passport)

(3) Request official transcripts from your Bachelor’s degree*.  Request the certifying institution to send transcripts directly to Admissions, Huntington College of Health Sciences, 117 Legacy View Way, Knoxville, Tennessee 37918. Unofficial transcripts may be evaluated to expedite the admission process, but official transcripts will be required for all applicants who choose to enroll.

(a) TTo be considered official, transcripts must be in the ordinal sealed envelope from the sending institution. Opened transcripts are considered to be unofficial and will not be accepted.

(b) Student copies will be accepted for application purposes; however, all credentials must be verified by official transcript to the college before a student is allowed to enroll in the first course.

(4) Submit a CV or complete resume detailing your personal information, employment, educational background, volunteer experiences, honors, awards, and professional certifications.

(5) Provide a short essay on how the MS in Nutrition degree will fit into your career goals.

The application is valid for 60 days from the time of acceptance. If a student does not enroll within 60 days he/she will have to reapply for future enrollment.

Doctorate Admissions

All Doctoral applicants must submit the following to the Admissions Office:

(1) A completed signed admissions application and a $75 non-refundable (except in the case of denial of admissions) application processing fee

(2)Students must submit with their application a photo copy of a government issued photo I.D. (Examples: Driver's License, Passport)

(3) Request official transcripts from your bachelor's and master’s degree*.  Request the certifying institution to send transcripts directly to Admissions, Huntington College of Health Sciences, 117 Legacy View Way, Tennessee 37918. Unofficial transcripts may be evaluated to expedite the admission process, but official transcripts will be required for all applicants who choose to enroll. Applicants for the Doctor of Health Science in Integrative Healthcare must have a master’s a health related degree (3.0 GPA or higher) or any master’s degree (3.0 GPA or higher) with significant professional work experience in the health field.

(a) To be considered official, transcripts must be in the original sealed envelope from the sending institution. Opened transcripts are considered to be unofficial and will not be accepted.

(b) Student copies will be accepted for application purposes; however, all credentials must be verified by official transcript to the college before a student is allowed to enroll in the first course.

(4) Submit a CV or complete resume detailing your personal information, employment, educational background, volunteer experiences, honors, awards, and professional certifications.

(5) Provide a short essay on how the Doctor of Health in Integrative Healthcare will fit into your career goals.

(6) Submit the names of 2 professional references and send each reference a Reference Request Letter form.

(7) Submit copies of any applicable licenses.

The application is valid for 60 days from the time of acceptance. If a student does not enroll within 60 days he/she will have to reapply for future enrollment.  

*Official transcripts must be accredited by an accrediting agency recognized by the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

Denial of Admission

An applicant may be denied admission if HCHS determines that the college is unable to meet the educational needs and objectives of the applicant. If an applicant is denied admission the $75.00 application fee will be refunded.
